Frequently Asked Questions
What is psychospiritual grief support, and how is it different from traditional therapy?
Psychospiritual grief support integrates evidence-based clinical approaches with spiritual and somatic frameworks which means that we will work with your mind, body, and spirit simultaneously, not just focusing on your thoughts and behaviors. Traditional therapy often focuses on symptom management and cognitive processing. Psychospiritual work honors that grief is not just a psychological event it's a soul-level experience that can involve ancestral connection, spiritual questioning, and a fundamental reorganization of who you are. At Healing with Amber, you don't have to choose between clinical work and spiritual depth. You receive both.
Do I have to be religious or spiritual to work with you?
Not at all. Spirituality at Healing with Amber is not about religion, dogma, or any particular belief system. It's about meaning-making and soul exploration. As humans we have a deep need to understand what happened, what it means, and who we are now. If you're skeptical, questioning, or somewhere in between, that's a perfectly valid place to begin. The work meets you where you are.
What is a mediumship reading, and what can I expect?
A mediumship reading is a facilitated communication between you and loved ones who have crossed over. As a practicing evidential medium with 16 years of development and practicing, Amber connects with the energy, personality, and messages of those in spirit to bring through validating, healing, and sometimes deeply specific information. Sessions are conversational, compassionate, and grounded not theatrical. You can expect to receive evidence of continued presence, messages of love or resolution, and sometimes guidance. While every session is unique, the goal is always healing. Mediumship readings are offered as standalone session and can be found within the Mediumship page and are separate from clinical grief counseling services.
What is the "Who Am I Now?" group program?
"Who Am I Now?" is an intimate 8-week psychospiritual grief group for BIPOC women navigating the identity rupture that loss creates.
Over eight weeks, you'll move through the full arc of identity in grief which will include somatic release, ancestral connection, narrative identity, spiritual sovereignty, and discover your identity emerging on the other side of grief. Clinical and sacred in equal measure. Each cohort holds just 10 people. The next cohort begins May 12, 2026. Schedule your free consultation for the group here.
What is spiritual counseling, and how is it different from grief counseling?
Spiritual counseling at Healing with Amber is a non-clinical, exploratory offering for people seeking grounded spiritual guidance rooted in discernment not just intuition-only or uncontained spiritual advice. It may include exploring the spiritual dimensions of grief and life transitions, making sense of intuitive experiences, identifying patterns through spiritual and metaphysical lenses, strengthening your inner authority, and utilizing tarot as a reflective tool.
This work is informed by Amber's formal metaphysical education which includes a bachelor's degree in Metaphysics, ministry status, and advanced doctoral-level study in spiritual counseling and consciousness. It is intentional, ethical, and structured. Spiritual counseling is offered separately from therapy and is available to individuals worldwide.
How does tarot fit into grief healing and psychospiritual work?
Tarot is used clinically as an intuitive tool for self-reflection, clarity, and exploration. The cards serve as a mirror, helping you access what you already know but may not be able to articulate yet. In the context of grief, tarot can surface emotions that are difficult to name, illuminate patterns, and offer a symbolic language for experiences that don't fit neatly into words. Readings are also available as standalone sessions and can also be woven into the broader spiritual healing and guidance process.
How do I book Amber to speak at my event?
Amber is available for speaking engagements for both general public and professional clinical audiences. How do I know which service is right for me?
A good starting point is asking yourself what you're most needing right now. If you're in the thick of acute grief and want personalized clinical support, individual counseling is likely your entry point. If you're craving community and structured guidance through grief's complexities, the Who am I now 8-week group program may be the fit. If you're seeking spiritual connection with a loved one who has passed, a mediumship reading offers that. If you want clarity, reflection, and intuitive insight, a tarot reading is a powerful tool.
